Our Passion.

Like many small business owners, I started my business with ambition, determination, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

I wanted to build something valuable. I wanted to serve people well. I wanted to grow.

What I did not fully understand at the time was that growth requires more than good intentions.

One of my coaches told me something years ago that stayed with me:

“Tawanda, good intentions are not enough.”

It was difficult to hear.

But it was exactly what I needed.

Because growth-stage business ownership is not simply about working harder or wanting success badly enough.

It is about learning how to lead through complexity.

Why This Matters to Me

My name is Tawanda Chirenda, Founder of Becoming a Willing Student®.

Over the years, I have learned that many business owners face similar challenges as they grow.

They struggle with difficult decisions.

They feel pressure to perform.

They face leadership challenges they never anticipated.

They work harder but still wonder what needs to change to reach the next stage of growth.

I understand those challenges because I have experienced many of them myself.

And that experience shaped the work we do today.

What We Are Passionate About

We are passionate about helping business owners navigate growth with greater clarity and confidence.

Not through generic business advice.

Not through motivational slogans.

But through thoughtful coaching, practical guidance, and honest conversations grounded in the realities of running a business.

We help owners strengthen leadership, improve decision-making, clarify priorities, build stronger teams, and navigate the uncertainty that often comes with growth.

Because growth is rarely straightforward.

And business owners should not have to navigate it alone.

The Value of Perspective

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that growth becomes easier when you stop trying to carry every challenge by yourself.

I used to believe I could do everything alone.

Sometimes I still try.

But over time I discovered the value of trusted coaches, advisors, and people willing to challenge my thinking.

Those relationships helped me grow as a leader.

They helped me see what I could not see on my own.

They helped me make better decisions.

That is the kind of partnership we seek to provide for our clients.

Becoming a Willing Student

At the heart of our work is a simple belief:

The most effective business owners are not the ones who believe they have all the answers.

They are the ones willing to keep learning.

As businesses grow, new challenges emerge.

What worked in one stage of growth may not work in the next.

Leadership evolves.

Markets change.

Teams expand.

Strategies must adapt.

This is why we believe becoming a willing student is one of the most valuable qualities a business owner can develop.

Not because learning is easy.

But because adaptability is essential.
