I believe when it comes to growing your business as a young entrepreneur you need to do it in a way that makes people feel safe and secure around you. This is about being an effective leader and exuding great energy and making others feel good around you.

Now, more than ever, your customers are hungry. They are after something. They want your genuineness more than your products, services, ideas, or expertise. They want an experience. They want an experience that is more authentic and real. This means you need to stay in touch with the real you. You need to share the real you with your customers.

It starts with making a decision to do things differently. This is a decision to match your outer expressions with your inner experiences. Yes, you may get into trouble for doing this, but do it anyway. The things you say and the things you do need to match with the things you actually believe.

When I was a young entrepreneur a few years ago and struggling to grow my business and achieve my goals, I used to wonder why other young entrepreneurs in my industry seemed to have better control of their businesses than I did. They had more impact, influence and income than me. And I wanted to know how to have the same control over my business like them.

We have been told time and time again that goal setting is an essential tool for achieving success in business, at work, and in our lives. That's true. But what we are not always told by goal setting experts is that goals themselves do not change anything.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s important to be professional, social, smart, and fun. You should strive to be all of those things.

I used to think passion was enough to grow your business, go through life as a young entrepreneur, and succeed with your team. I was wrong, very wrong. I discovered the hard way that you need strategy. I discovered you need to learn how to lead yourself first before you can lead anyone else.
